My corgi likes to nip my ear lobe (not hard but i have almost lost a few earings) and then he sticks his head under my chin like he’s huging me, then he goes away. Sometimes he will also try to chew on my ear while playing (again not hard). Why does he do this? He doesn’t do this with my husband, but he also only shows half of the respect for my husband that he does for me. He is very well behaved, loving and loyal, but i dont know if this is a sign of affection, or if i should scold him.
It’s likely affection.. He feels closer to you and feels like he is able to be that way with you.. You are likely more snuggly and sweet with him than your husband is..
Be careful of those earrings tho. I have almost lost a couple letting little guys nuzzle.. I switched to pieced earrings that the back screws on, to make sure that no one could yank an earring out of my ear. I can’t give up the nuzzling, would rather give up the earrings

well, i’m not sure either, but my rat terriers, maggie and ladybug, do this to me also. i really think it’s the smell thing behind your ears. Who knows? i do not scold for this unless they hurt my ear lobe.

Before I got my Shih tzu nutered he would nibble my ears and lick them and I would watch the other Shih tzus and they do the same with each other I think he is loveing you or making love to you.

I think he is making a pass at you! lol! no seriously I would stop him just in case he gets a bit too frisky you don’t want loose an ear. I don’t think your dog will take it personally and stop showing you affection, he just needs to know his boundaries when it comes to you. I have had dogs all my life and everyone is an expert, but one thing I have learned is that be the boss when it comes to your dog and he will love and respect you more than you can imagine. Gud luck!
