My old cooker had 1 chain on the back to secure it to the wall. I have bought a new cooker, but this has 2 chains (1 on each side) Do CORGI regulations stipulate both chains need to be secured if fitted. The council attatched the gas pipe, but hasn`t connected chains.
Also, the council want to install a combi-boiler in my bedroom (instead of the kitchen), but I am worried about Carbon Monoxide poisoning from a faulty boiler in the same room I`m sleeping in.
The combi boiler is probably what is classed as a fan flued room sealed boiler. This means that the boiler takes its air for combustion from outside and expells the products of combustion via a fan to outside. The fan on the boiler turns on first and goes through an air pressure switch which will only allow the boiler to fire up if this switch is activated. once the burner is activated the thermocouple constantly monitors wether the burner is lit or not and will turn off the gas valve if the burner goes out. They are very safe and there are no regulations for a room sealed boiler to be installed in sleeping quarters as they contain a number of failsafes to ensure that they are not dangerous. If you are worried get a battery or mains operated carbon monoxide detector and make sure the boiler is serviced every year by a corgi registered engineer.

klee52 is spot on with the boiler, i have serviced so many boilers in bedrooms and never had a problem (thats heating boilers by the way).
As for cookers have a look at the manufacturers instructions, in most cases they will over ride the regulations. If they say fix both chains then you have your answer, as far as i know you should be ok just fixing with one chain

if its the cooker im thinking about you join the two chains at the back together and then to the wallin a y shape if u no what i mean although im sure some cookers have a gap at the bottom for a stability bracket (easier to fit ) and you dont have to lean over the cooker to unhook it . as said above the manufacturers instructions override corgi regs . if i were you i would call the council back as they have not fitted the cooker correctly , if you get no joy call corgi and explain your situation they are very helpfull . boilewr in bedroom no probs as long as its new , when the guys come to fit it ask to see the instructions with the boiler in there you will see the prohibited areas , you should also be shown how it works and given the instructions to keep
