There are a lot of individuals who fear mice and I don’t understand them. They are actually very cute. It is ironic that a lot of people love Mickey Mouse and yet hate rats. They hate rats but they like hamsters. Excuse me, they are of the same family. Rats are Mickeys, only, misunderstood. They don’t really eat your clothes if you just give them food to eat. Or you could give them a house.
There are so many stylish pet rat cages in the market and I want to buy my little Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse a house they can call a home. If you want the same, this is for you.
Most of the cages built are too small. But I do understand that the space is the consideration. I have a house and no family yet, so I can afford to give a big space for my Mr. and Mrs. Mouse or should that be Mr. and Mrs. Mice?
Building a house specifically made for your petes is great. Take a cabinet that fits in the corner and make compartments. A lot of custom-made pet rat cages are often built with many layers so that the mouse can roam around as much as they like. Having said that, this is the main reason why you see a tread mill in many pet rat cages. My own planned rat pad will have four layers. I will put a little bed and a hammock in the top area of their house. A pipe will lead the mice down to the second topmost level where they eat.
There is an opening on all levels so that I can pet my Mickey and Minnie Mice. The basin for their food and water is going to be located on the second level of their house. I also placed small balls on it that they can play with but that they cannot chew. I will make use of a stair that will lead down to the next level of their house. Here, we find the tread mill and some more non-chewable toys.
The first level is where the rats cannot go. This is where I am going to place their food and other hygiene materials.
For individuals who do not have the luxury of space to build big pet rat cages, do not worry, there are a lot available in the market that has different sizes.
An example of this that I saw is a three-feet pet rat cage, complete with a hammock, ramp and an exercise wheel.
Kmart has a “My First Home” collection that has pet rat cages with an area of just a square foot but already contains an exercise wheel and ramps.
