I Have a Pembrook Welsh Corgi Whos Just a Few Months Over 1 Year?

He will lay on his back and bite at his front paws. Sometimes even his back paws I have seen him do. But mainly it is his front paws. I have heard him growl or whine at himself because he bit himself hard. I know hes going to be a chewer he chews and recks his toys now. Is this paw chewing a "normal" thing for the corgi breed.

Not sure if it’s breed specific, but i have a year old English Bulldog that does the same thing. but mine never bites himself so hard he cries…but he does growl at himself while doing it. cracks me up. and he is also a chewer..furniture…toys…etc.

not a corgi trait, as far as i know… i have a 4 month corgi :-) ..as long as he’s not hurting himself or doing it until it’s raw or bloody, i think it’s probably ok… might want to check with a vet to rule out any skin conditions…

i have a corgi and he doesnt ever bite his paws. he really like the dingo (meat in the middle) rawhide things. it keeps him busy for a long time. then he doesnt reck his toys or furinture or anything like that. i would see if his paws are "hot spots" and try to use a a hot spot shampoo on his feet.

i have a mixed breed, and he often chews on his paws, both front and back. chases and bites his tail too. he isn’t hurting himself, and doesn’t growl. he has bunches of chew bones and chew toys, so my guess is it’s just a little habit he has….
