Corgis are very vocal dogs. I've heard others "talk", but I think the range of sounds is much greater in some corgis. Herbie is extremely chatty. Our other corgi–not so much. Ruby has a much deeper voice than Herbie does, though!

Are those noises that are more common in Corgis? Or do all dogs make them?

Wow, my corgi Zero …
Wow, my corgi Zero makes the same ones too. Looks like it's all in the breed. The yawn barks those are my favorite. <3 He does those when I come home and he 's excited.

My corgi, Seamus, …
My corgi, Seamus, does a lot of floor whining (even when he's standing up). If he barks at the door and we tell him to be quiet, he'll just walk away and make a grumbling noise. And if I ask him to do a trick, he just lies down for five or ten minutes and growls at me as if he's insulted that I'm asking him to actually -do- something for a treat. When he does do the trick, he lectures me with barks and snarls while doing it to emphasize how ashamed I should be of myself.

What a hoot! I laughed all the way through. My corgi would never chase a cat, but our cat loved her. She did NOT love her, she would sit quietly and growl the whole time the cat was rubbing on her. Corgis are the best!
