Pembroke Welse Corgi is a type of dog. Very docile and affectionate. But, very stubborn when it comes to medicating for upset tummy. Is there an effective way to tame the pup when ready to administer medicine?
I’m sorry I didn’t specify… Our Corgi, named "Melody," fusses tremendously with liquid medication that I try to administer with a soft tip syringe… She yanks her head about violently and tries to refuse medicine.
It depends on whether you are talking about a pill or a liquid.
Put a pill in a bit of cheese or hot dog and usually it will go right down.
With a liquid you can get either a medicine spoon or and syringe (no needle, just the tube part). Put your thumb and middle finger on either side of the dog’s mouth right where the jay hinges and press. It will hold the dogs mouth open. Put the spoon (this is a medicine spoon which has a hollow handle that you mesure the medicine in) or the syringe at the back of the tongue and quickly deliver the medicine. It will pour right down the dog’s throat.
Next step is to count your fingers.

I always try one of two things with my dog….
1. every time i give him a pill i put them in the same place i keep his tteatss and when i pull it up i hype it up as if he where getting a reat and sometimes that works if not then
2. I put it in with his wet food and he never notices… if that fails wrapping it in a treat may also work

You can put it inside a treat or if that doesn’t work. wrap him in a towel, put the medicen far back in his mouth and hold his head back and mouth shut until he swallows. If he doesn’t swallow, try blowing in his face. Sometimes that will make them swallow.
